9 And they came to the place of which God had spoken unto him; And Abraham built an altar there, and laid out the wood, and bound his son Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.

10 And Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham! Abraham! He said, Here I am.

12 And the angel said, Lift not up thy hand against the lad, nor do anything to him: for now I know that thou fearest God, and have not spared thy son, thy only son, for my sake.

13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw, and behold, behind him was a ram, entangled in the thicket with his horns. Abraham went and took a ram and offered it for a burnt offering in the place of [Isaac] his son.

14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh. Wherefore even now it is said, On the mountain of Jehovah it shall be seen.

15 And a second time the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham from heaven

16 And he said, "By me, saith the Lord, that because thou hast done this work, thou hast not spared thy son, thy only son, [for me,]

17 then I will bless you, and multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand on the seashore. and thy seed shall possess the cities of their enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voice.

19 And Abraham returned to his servants, and they arose, and went together to Beersheba; And Abraham dwelt in Beersheba.

20 And after these things they spoke unto Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah also bore sons to Nahor thy brother, saying,

21 Uz his firstborn, Buz, this brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,

22 Kesed, and Chazo, and Pildash, and Idlath, and Bethuel;
