[253] but as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man: for as in the days before the flood they ate and drank, married and were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and did not think until the flood came and destroyed them all, so shall the coming of the Son of man be;

[254] But first He must suffer much and be rejected by this generation. And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man: they ate, drank, married, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

[255] once disobedient to God's long-suffering that awaited them, in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved from the water. In the same way, we are now saved by baptism similar to this image, not by washing away the impurity of the flesh, but by the promise of a good conscience to God, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ

[262] A man guilty of shedding human blood will run to the grave lest anyone seize him.

[263] For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should destroy sins.

[264] for the law was given through Moses; but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

[265] If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, the ox shall be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox is not to blame;
